The Winston-Salem Southbound Railway is a 90-mile short-line railroad jointly owned by CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern Railway, which provide it with equipment. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Commodities carried by the railroad are grain, sand, gravel, stone, aluminum, and more. On May 1, 2010, the High Point, Thomasville, and Denton Railroad were merged into the Winston-Salem Southbound Railway.
- This newly restored Winston Salem Southbound Railway caboose, No. 0670, was donated to the N.C. Transportation Museum by the Winston Salem Southbound Railway in 2021 and restored by Willetts Rail Car Services in 2022.
